Biographical Information

Patrick Lewis has defended people from criminal allegations for over 20 years.  He has represented clients in city courts, state district courts, state appellate courts, the Kansas Supreme Court, and federal district and appellate courts.  Patrick realized when he started law school at Kansas University that his greatest strength and his greatest love were courtroom litigation.  He focused his attentions in law school on those classes which allowed him to learn how to best present his client’s case to a jury.  After graduating he continued his education at Emory University in Atlanta and earned an advanced degree in courtroom litigation.

Patrick began his professional career with the public defender’s office in Wichita.  He defended clients charged with felony crimes ranging from theft to murder.  Joining the Johnson County public defender’s office, Patrick defended clients and took on supervisory duties.  He eventually ran the office and began teaching law students at Washburn University.  For the last seven years Patrick has practiced criminal defense in the greater Kansas City area.  By limiting his practice to criminal defense he is able to sharpen his skills and give his clients as strong a defense as possible. It is very important to Patrick that his clients understand what is going on in their case and work towards getting the result the client wants.
