Biographical Information

Gerald “Gerry” H. Goldstein
Gerry Goldstein is a nationally known and respected defense lawyer, who is Board Certified in both Criminal Law and Criminal Appeals by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is Past President of both the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers. He was named a “Texas Legal Legend” by the State Bar of Texas Litigation Section in 2010, was named one of the “100 Texas Legal Legends” of the past century by Texas Lawyer in 2000, was inducted into Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association’s Hall of Fame in 2002, in 1991 he received the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Robert C, Heeney Award as the outstanding criminal defense lawyer in the U.S., and in 2019 received the Texas Bar Foundation’s “Outstanding 50-Year Lawyer Award”.
He is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, and the American Board of Criminal Lawyers. He served on the faculty of the University of Texas School of Law in Austin from 1982 to 1993 and St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio from 1998 to the present. He has been listed in the Best Lawyers in America every year since 1987, has been named a Texas Super Lawyer every year since 2003, as well as one of the Top 100 Super Lawyers in Texas, and the Top 50 Central and West Texas Region Super Lawyers, and was named the Best San Antonio Lawyer by SA Scene Magazine in 2022.
