Biographical Information

Brian G. Miller has established himself as an experienced and accomplished trial lawyer who is a leader in the field of personal injury law. Representing victims and the families of individuals who have been killed or seriously injured due to the improper actions of a negligent driver, negligent company, employer, premises owner, product manufacturer, or an at-fault third party, Mr. Miller is committed to thoroughly investigating and preparing each case in order to meet the needs of all his clients.

Above all else, he prides himself on his hands-on, personal approach and direct, consistent interaction with clients.

Mr. Miller has been recognized with many of his profession’s top honors and accolades. He is included within the 2013 and 2014 editions of The Best Lawyers in America for his work in the field of personal injury litigation. Best Lawyers, by virtue of its peer based selection process, is generally recognized as the definitive guide to legal excellence in the United States. Similarly, Mr. Miller has been named annually to Ohio’s Super Lawyer list since 2010. This distinction recognizes the top 5% of attorneys statewide, though Mr. Miller has been further recognized by his peers as among the even more exclusive ‘Top 100’ lawyers across all disciplines for the State of Ohio and ‘Top 50’ Columbus Super Lawyers. Mr. Miller also enjoys a pre-eminent AVA rating within his profession based upon the confidential reviews of the members of the Bar and Judiciary. This distinction reflects the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards.

Mr. Miller is a former Assistant Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney. During his career stage as a felony prosecutor; he secured respect for his abilities as a trial lawyer from the judges in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas that continues today in his private civil trial practice. He further honed those trial skills as a graduate of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy. Mr. Miller’s courtroom abilities have been recognized by the Central Ohio Association for Justice, which in 2012 & 2018 presented Mr. Miller with its ‘Louisville Slugger’s’ Award, given annually to an attorney for an outstanding civil trial verdict. He has secured several results that exceed one million dollars on behalf of his clientele, and he is a lifetime member of the national Million Dollar Advocates Forum.

Prior to founding his own firm, he practiced civil litigation and personal injury law for over six years with the highly regarded and well-established firm, Frank A. Ray Co, L.P.A. There, he developed his personal injury practice that remains the hallmark of his current law firm; however, he also represented a variety of other clients including professional sports entities, the Columbus Clippers Baseball team and the AAA baseball International League.

Today, in addition to serving his personal injury clientele, Mr. Miller serves as outside counsel to the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets. He also represents certain clients with respect to contract and business and employment related issues.  In these roles, Mr. Miller has provided diversified assistance with business litigation, contract disputes, workers compensation issues, and general litigation matters.

Mr. Miller is involved with the local bar association and is affiliated with several other organizations within his profession.

Mr. Miller is a long-time resident of Columbus, Ohio where he lives with his wife and three children. He is a member of St. Peter’s Parish. He loves athletic competition, coaches his children, and is a member of the Agonis Club of Columbus.

Lisa M. Jones v. FirstEnergy Corp., dba Ohio Edison, et al., Union County Court of Common Pleas, Case No. 15 CV 0201. Verdict of $34,317,636.00 Highest verdict in Ohio in 2017.  Honored for recognition as Top 100 Verdict in the United States. On June 29, 2017, a jury returned the highest verdict in the history of Union County, Ohio, when they found that FirstEnergy Service Co. and Ohio Edison were negligent with respect to a delayed response to the scene of an emergency which resulted in Mr. Miller’s client suffering a debilitating anoxic brain injury.2017
